(Not for sale) Dress is very similar to Khan Sheikhou Dress 1950s. Larger quantity of the fine needle work shows intricate cross stitch embroidery on the front and back upper portion of the dress and the center back hem. Dress is made of commercially bought heavy polished cotton probably made at the local textile factory as greater Syria cotton harvest yielded medium to good grade and a portion of crops at the turn of the century stayed in Syria for the manufacturing of under garments and basic male day wear.

The British were very keen on exporting their threads and cloth to the Levant and actively conducted field research-reports for Queen Victoria on the subject. Ignorance and greed on the part of the Syrian business men, they struck deals with the British and helped weaken their own economy and product.

For the dress the center back neck stay-collar is interfaced with rough cotton and repeatedly stitched to build stiffness and body then heavily embroidered to tame the textile. Unlike the San Simeon open coats that are very similar in design this dress has no pockets .
